A good series with a bad sequel.
- Characters aren't true to their counterparts in the previous game
- Ellie and Joel are wary of all they encounter, from the fake injured man Joel ran over in the streets to the pedo-cannibal that captured Ellie (She wouldn't even give a name to him!). In the sequel, they literally find his killer in the wilds, armed and alone. so they tell them where they live...
- Used the *expected* death of a main character to drive plot
- 'We want to subvert expectations' means they want to trick you
- Everyone expected joels death (He's old!), but the way it was done was clearly for shock value
- Cliche revenge plotline, that doesn't end with revenge
- Ellie kills dozens to hundreds along her journey, and then when she reaches the one who took the most from her, she doesn't kill her (No problem with all the other humans that make up 'The Last of Us' being killed though!)
- New characters are uninteresting for the most part
