The book is very well-written and really captures the feel of everything, but the movie is too fast-paced and, in my opinion, leaves out so many key elements. A perfect example is Fay, who had a pretty big role in the book but in the movie only appears in one scene and when she introduces herself it feels to me they're just having her do that so you can say, "Oh, so that's Fay." If you want a better story, read the book.
