Pretty awful dumbed down Dickens and not even very funny. Some of the acting was good esp. Paul Whitehouse and Hugh Laurie, but why was D.C. Indian? Why was Mr Whitlow Chinese? Why was Steerforth's mother black, ditto Ham. No rhyme nor reason for it, except of course the dreaded Wokeness that has to creep into everything now. The storm scene was very well done, but Uriah Heep, one of the funniest characters in the book was hopeless - a missed opportunity, and there was no 'Barkis is willin'. It would have been better if this film had never been made!
