Ok the guys who created this must have been chewing on magic mushrooms! Not sure what age range it’s for but I am 60! Discovered on a miserable new year’s eve during the UKs third lockdown. Made me laugh! No good trying to explain the plot just enjoy the sly droll humour that sneaks in amongst the madness. It’s on POP on freeview in the UK.

Struggling to get through this! Slow, predictable, and thoroughly depressing. Unlucky to launch this sort of film whilst we are in the middle of a pandemic with the vaccines yet to have a major effect. I love SF, George Clooney, and David Oyelowo but found it hard going. Pretty sure there was a clip of Gregory Peck in a movie one of the crew was watching! When you start to notice details like that it’s worrying because you know you’re not really in tune with the film or its characters. A lot of the space sequences were reminiscent of ‘Gravity’, a much better film. And (spoiler alert), it was pretty obvious from the start that the young girl was a figment of the Clooney character’s imagination. I guess I’ve seen too many movies! That said I liked the way it was shot and thought the music lush and evocative. The film tries to end on a upbeat note but it’s too little too late by the time you’ve struggled to the end of the film.
