This movie really is an awkward mess. And that being because of the lead actor Ben Platt. Something about him playing a teenager looked and felt all wrong. The movie all together was watchable, however Ben Platt was distracting. He clearly looks much older then who he was portraying and the way in which he was made to look younger just drew more attention to the reality. I know the movie is based on a musical and true story but it was very depressing to watch. The whole movie was the main character lying to everyone until the end when he finally confesses to all leading to a lot of upset amongst everyone he lied to. He tries to make it up to everyone but it doesn’t go the way he plans and then the movie ends. It wasn’t tied up, so many loose ends were left. Also the songs are the most awkward part about the movie. They feel so out of place and forced. The actors look incredibly uncomfortable during the performances and for a movie in which the music is meant to compliment the scenes, they don’t. I had to fast forward through the songs.

I wanted to like this show and was excited to see it, however I found it really hard to watch. The hosts were irritating and way too much. They have no chemistry and came off as quite fake. All of that aside it was the worst when the brunette was on. She would shut down her partner constantly, talk over her and roll her eyes. She was quite judgmental, arrogant and had a terrible attitude. Such a shame because they have some good ideas, although most of what they do is really quite simple and nothing new or inventive. Also every episode is quite similar where they do/use the same things all over again. It was also strange seeing how different the hosts acted around the celebrity guests vs their staff and everyday people who would be on the show. They would turn super chummy/screechy and ridiculously fake in front of the celebrities and then they would be the complete opposite in front of their staff. Strange. Not sure why it was renewed for a second season.

This movie sadly was beyond disappointing. I’m so confused by all of the rave reviews by fans and critics. It had an incredibly weak plot, which seemed to be overlooked because of the nostalgic factors. Take out the nostalgia and what do you have? Nothing. Why not introduce a new villain? Why not give Tom Holland’s Spider-Man a chance to have his own movie without the addition of the past two Spider-Man’s and the old villains. It was just too much, was not executed well and some of the villains had barely any screen time so their presence just made no sense. The whole “rehabilitating” the villains was weak and is basically rewriting the original Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield movies. Let the villains be villains. What does this mean for those universes? The bad guys suddenly turn good again? Just ridiculous. Also the way Tobey and Andrew were introduced and utilised was sloppy and underwhelming. It could have been epic, but just seemed rushed and -here they are- kind of thing. No build up. The dialogue and jokes the whole way through the movie was absolute cringe, unfunny and trying too hard. Like is it meant to be a funny movie or a serious movie or a sad movie? I just didn’t know. The only good part was the first 25 minutes and then it just went downhill from there. It was great seeing Tobey Maguire again, but truly he deserved a lot better.

Absolutely garbage. I watched both seasons and it’s just the worst. Insufferable characters, pointless storylines, truly just boring and NO chemistry between the cast which makes it very unbelievable that the main 3 characters are meant to be lifelong friends. And the casting of Jamie Lynn Spears?? Firstly girl CAN’T ACT!! Seriously she is so rusty and does not fit into the show, so out of place and doesn’t have the ability to act naturally. Secondly after all of the drama with her family why keep her for the second season??

After watching the new Spiderman movies I don’t think they even compare to the original trilogy. I don’t care what people say, Tobey Maguire is hands down the best and only Spider-man/Peter Parker. I can respect the other two but they really don’t measure up to Tobey. He plays the character exactly how he’s supposed to be. The Sam Raimi trilogy are the best Marvel movies ever made. The CGI, effects, soundtrack, script and cinematography are undeniably brilliant 20 years on and they have so much heart in them that the remakes just fail to have.

Literally the sequel nobody asked for. I can’t believe that Netflix cancelled so many decent shows yet still somehow had a budget to create this movie. Terrible storyline, bad acting, forced “drama” and yet again this very privileged girl not realising how lucky she is. Just bleh.

Absolute and utter trash. Very much the worst Marvel movie made, could barely sit through it all. Complete borefest and so disappointed. As a massive Marvel fan I was holding high hopes and after just seeing Shang Chi I was confident this one would be just as good- but it wasn’t. With a star packed cast it should have been an awesome addition to the MCU- but it isn’t. It was so hard to follow, the story was just confusing, the cast had very little chemistry, the characters were not fleshed out and rather unlikeable, too many main characters- almost made it seem like a spoof, it had a very serious tone and it really doesn’t fit in with the other Marvel films and the storytelling was an absolute mess. First Marvel film I won’t be watching again. The plot was not well thought out and seems to have no relevance to the MCU, Eternals has managed to completely drag down phase 4. Really unnecessary addition, it had the potential to be a great film missed the mark. I hope this was just a one off and they are able to make better films going forward.

Why why why is this a thing. So disappointed that this is connected to the absolutely iconic and brilliant series How I Met Your Mother. Everything about this is off, the writing is poor, no chemistry with the cast- just forced ‘jokes’. Absolute cringe fest. Should’ve had a different name and concept instead of piggybacking ideas and the style of HIMYM. It’s hard not to compare this show to HIMYM as it is literally the reboot, it takes place in the same location, the same apartment, uses the same theme song and has copied the exact way of storytelling. No one asked for this show? Why do such a disservice to the original series? The magic of HIMYM was the ORIGINAL idea behind it- nothing seen before, an incredible cast and sensational writing. The fact that another shows success is being used here to increase viewership and ratings is sickening and purely upsetting. If the show/people don’t want this show to be compared to HIMYM, then why literally use the same name? Same theme song? And everything in between? Don’t bother with this one.
