I thought this film was beautiful. The plot is somewhat oddly strung together, but something about the shots were really elegant. I really enjoyed the lead actor's performance. He was very reserved save some very few moments when he unleashes the person his character will be later. I did not need to have the child Hannibal's story as much. We could have started with his arrival at his aunt's house in France. I think leaving the horror he experienced more to our imagination, and shown instead how it affected Hannibal would have strengthened the film and tightened up the plot. However, the locations were beautiful and the Kendo sequence in particular was amazing. I had fun.
