This is a fascinating work of art, inside the thoughts of an actual imprisoned author, as he focuses on his past experiences, his small town upbringing, his big city artistic adventures, his internal challenges during his confinement, and his fantasies for his future life as told in this unfolding saga. This is the first in a series of books to be published after his release, called " My Kate Like the Seashore ". He creates an alternate reality, fictional female companion, and a calamitous possible dystopian future. There is much humor, descriptive artistic angst, and a real outsider feel to the manner of expression and intention. The introduction and forward are very engaging, and the backing sound track caught the mood of the author's punchy text being read. I just couldn't stop listening to this repeatedly. Loved it all! LUV
