The books were amazing but whoever wrote for the show should never get a job writing for anything ever again. They destroyed the story trying to cram more than one book into the first series. They created characters that didn't exist in the book and rewrote others who were completely different as Mr. Jordan penned them. The cast is good (most of them) but the writing is absolutely awful and the story presented is probably making Mr. Jordan roll around in his grave.
