Abusive parents, empathetic childhood friend now lost , mystery of who he is and where ...stranded on an island for 15 years....just about 55 kms from where they drowned....heroes come to clean an island that's uninhabited..??? And now the FL's struggle to get back to normalcy .maybe a second lead syndrome.... Kya yaar. Kitna gheesa peeta formula....

Indian Viewers- Maybe bcoz I've watched just toooo many Indian movies...this one smacks of typical Indian cinema/TV 'Maa' melodrama. Just can't shake that feeling off. Even the dialogues if translated seem straight from the stables of cringey Indian movies. Eg. Ep 4 - when Maa horrified with her son's wrongdoings piles her frustration on him, the son crawls to her saying (translated word for word) "meri galti hai maa. maa mai galat thaa. nahi karunga fir se. mujhe sach mai yaad nahi kuch. kya mai galat insan hoon maa ? kya isliye sazaa mil rahi hai mujhe ? isliye uparwale ne sazaa di mujhe ? " The villains including the one with a limp and a walking stick seems to have materialised from our 60s and 70s cinema. The revenge for father's murder, the accident and ammesia, the mother performing miracles that docs can't, the neighborhood village bumpkins/frenemies ... This is vintage Bollywood, Tollywood, Mollywood, Kollywood , Balaji Telefilmy.... I wonder sometimes if we are getting blinded by our fascination for korean content and accept everything that comes from K dramaland as wonderful. Most of it these days seems repetitive, over the top and cringey.

If you like slow burn romance, if you've liked dramas like ' Do you like Brahms', ' Misaeng', ' My Mister ' or 'My Liberation Notes' you will love this. The palette is meloncholic with tiny bits of sparks thrown in. Story synopsis - The male lead's mother who keeps having affairs ends up with the female lead's father. The female lead is out for revenge but falls for the male lead's kindness and openness. The characters surrounding female lead , her brother, sister and a friend provide the bright sparks in the story.

Thank you dear writers of this drama. Thank you from the bottom of my heart dear director and the actors. This drama just made it to number 2 on my list of favourite Korean dramas. It replaced Misaeng which held on to its number 2 position on my list for years. Diary of a Prosecutor - this is a must - see for all those who want a break from cliched romantic K dramas. And actor Lee Sun Kyun you have my heart and soul. You are not just Korea's, but the world's finest actor. Among top 5% in the world.

Took me forever and forever to finish . Just couldn't get the warp and weft of the storyline. The deaths, reincarnation, punishments for afterlife, Gods , Goblins, lifting of curse, nothing made sense to me. The only reason this drama even gets a star from me - 1. Gong Yoo and his stellar acting . The micro expressions , the body language, the eyes, the humour , the grief , the pain.....he nails it. Couldn't take my eyes off him 2. The humour in the drama by 3 male actors was superb. Not central to the plot at all that came as a welcome relief. That's it. Plodded and crawled through 16 episodes without an ounce of interest. Solely based on rave reviews. Big mistake. Should have just watched cleverly edited scenes on YouTube.
