Tries way too hard. Beautiful artwork and an important story can't shine through the tortured pseudo-spirituality and strained 'poetic' prose, which in places is simply nonsensical (the title included). Aims to be deep and haunting, but ends up clunky and drear. The message and history is significant and should be shared with children, but this is just a grim slog.
