Was thinking this was potentially good almost to the end, even though a lot of things didn’t make sense (others have pointed those glaring questions out so I won’t repeat). I assumed all would be made clear in the end. Wrong. Of the 4 main threads, none was satisfactorily concluded. Not the marriage (suddenly goes off the rails?); not the friendship (Lou thinks he’s a good guy getting the boys into the drug trade?); neither murder pathway. So we know one murderer but she gets away with it? And the DCI must be the least observant/intuitive detective ever. Sorry I didn’t quit sooner.

*Spoilers* (though I don’t recommend watching it). So pedantic as to be opaque. Or maybe it was just so hard to care about ANYONE in this awful film that I just stopped paying attention. Acting was fine and John Hurt is wonderful as an actor but his character is a dreadful person. What was with the guy who does a self-lobotomy? And the final insult when Hurt’s character (mis)represents chaos theory to Woods character thereby implying Woods set it all in motion and was the ultimate guilty party. Ridiculous! Embarrassing to admit I watch it through. Don’t make the same mistake.

SPOILERS! I like the premise and the designers, after the first few weeks, were very good. Appreciate the minimization of infighting. Not crazy about the judges. And really disliked the “Heidi and Tim” fillers. Don’t know what that was supposed to add. Ultimately very disappointed in the finale. Cannot understand on what the decisions were based. First Ethel’s business plan seemed to be a better actual business plan as it was stated she actually did what was needed. Then the judges’ comments (as portrayed; much else was said behind the scenes I’m sure) were more positive about her designs than Jonny’s. So I am left not understanding why he won. I loved his designs, just thought hers were more elevated. Not sure if I would watch any more seasons.
