All peoples in the world created their own culture but only a few are civilised. The struggle for being civilised is hard and brutal. The black people are living through this struggle, so are the Chinese people.
This movie reflect the theme well and to my delight, it touched me with a high degree of honesty.
The first step for the less civilised to encounter the civilised in the forms that are humiliating and devastating, generating grievance lasting for generations, which could be so great that some nation can never get over with it and take the second step.
The second step is just as painful. All the pride and self-esteem is challenged to the extent that you are either to admit your failure while acknowledge the merit of your opponents, or, to deny the reality and go back to the a place between the first step and second step.
The half step between the first and the second is even more embarrassing and awkward. The is where most of the black intellectuals are. You cannot escape your root, which is rotten and dying, but you desire to thrive in a new greenhouse that offer all you need to be successful, which you must hate and despise to maintain your dignity and pride.
This movie captured the gist of the conditions the black population find itself in, especially in the country that offers the most favourable environment for their development.
There is no solution and any solution must be comical and pathetical.
