Arguably one of my least favourite games in the franchise. Feels like SUCH a downgrade to previous titles, gunplay feels terrible, bullet velocity frankly stinks, and weapon "balancing" is laughable, with only 2-3 usable guns.
Campaign - Really don't umderstand why everyone seems to love this so much. I predicted exactly what would happen when I saw the first trailer, and low and behold I was right. The way characters talk along with the dialogue itself often feels so unnatural it sometimes made me cringe. As previously mentioned, the "big twist" (in one of the endings) was painfully obvious from the first trailer. Once I finished the campaign I uninstalled and will never touch again.
Multiplayer - This is where I would usually spend most of my time in Call of Duty. In Modern Warfare 2019, however, I turned my focus to Warzone once that released. I still played the multiplayer sometimes, but overall I found it somewhat mundane and often plain boring. Warzone kept me playing COD overall, though. This year I've already given up the ghost and uninstalled completely. I truly loathe the multiplayer. The maps are god-awful, at least in my opinion. They're just the classic Treyarch 3 lane maps, except most are long with no width. At launch there was a pitiful EIGHT (8) maps, and two of those were smaller versions of larger, ground war maps. Then, recently they released Nuketown, one of my favourite COD maps. Not on Cold War it isn't. It's now a pure sweatfest thanks to skill-based matchmaking, and, in Domination, the second the enemy team takes A/C and B flags, you may as well quit - you will not be able to get past the first bus at the mid-section of the map. You truly get punished for playing well, one game you're in a lobby where the other team use a Guitar Hero drumset as a controller, the next you're on the main stage in the COD League World Finals. The "casual Call of Duty" doesn't exist anymore thanks to Activision and their torrid SBMM.
Zombies - Perhaps the only part of the game I consistently enjoyed. Never been a HUGE zombies player, but enoyed what I did play in Black Ops 3 (didn't buy Black Ops 4). This is where I now go to truly relax and play COD. I can lean back in my chair and talk casually to friends who are also in the same game as me. This is the game mode I see myself playing until Warzone is implemented on December 10th (thank the lord it's on the MW engine).
Never quit a COD multiplayer so early, I usually play quite a lot and well into the next year, however this year I'm quitting around 2 weeks in. As mentioned, I'll stick with Zombies until Warzone and Cyberpunk come out.
