Linda Bristow-Beller

I have watched this show from its inaugeration with Ben Miller. He was brilliant as Inspector Richard Poole. My husband and I enjoyed Series 1&2 so much that we spent 2 winters on the islands of Guadaloupe where it is filmed) and Martinique. I believe the writing was tighter and smarter in the earlier seasons. The shows now include flashbacks to an event throughout the show rather than just at the denouement. The writers are either stretching the time with fill ins or dumbing down the show with continual flashbacks. (The show is only 55 mins long...we really need to be reminded what some said 10 mins ago???) Either way it is annoying. Wonderful scenery and fun and quirky characters.....the writing has to be better.
