This show was perfect in so many ways. It broke me; it made me laugh out loud; it made me care about completely odd and strange characters; and it made me love a dog that literally saves a man’s life. There was nothing like this show before— so crass and ridiculous, yet so heartfelt, kind, raw and soul crushing. It’s something that cannot be explained. Afterlife has to be experienced.

If you’re like me and think Die Hard is a Christmas movie you’ll enjoy this. Go in with no expectations. Watch Martin Riggs play a burned out Santa. Watch Mrs. Claus say “did you check the list?” And Santa say, “it’s good enough.” It’s the little bits like that make it great. Gibson leans right into the role and plays it straight. Goggins plays a nice mix of the ridiculous from Vice Principals mixed with Shane Vendrell from the Shield. Stupid but fun. Tired of watching Christmas Vacation a 20th time? Give it a go. Make sure you’re in a Bad Santa kind of mood.
