Surprising to see the reviews, seems like only a glass eye would rate this movie with low scores. The excellent plot line makes for an interesting period piece that moves you casually at first with friendship but then quick and subtle to remind you of the conniving forces that still lingered after the second world war. Maybe even to this day

this film does its job in a spectacular fashion and lands with a gutwrenching face in the mirror sorta blow. you're only happy cause you're ignorant and there really are no guarantees no rock bottom to this labyrinth of a life. An hour well spent.
