Realistic statement about real Christianity. Not for the faint of heart, just like Christianity. Reminds me of the C.S. Lewis quote: "If you want a religion to make you feel really comfortable, I certainly don't recommend Christianity." On the other hand, the Gospel promises of Jesus the Christ are eternal and ultimately overcome everything.
