This show seems to be marketed towards young adults, but written by a child. There are endless plot holes, unrealistically convenient events, and all the characters are just so damn dumb! I'm not sure if the actors can't act, or they're just being completely held back by the script, but everything said, and the way it's said, sounds unbelievably fake and plain bad. Do the script writers know how humans interact?? You will be able to guess the plot twists episodes in advance--and maybe that's why serious 'bomb drops' are glossed over-- , the lines are so tacky and overused you'll be able to say them before the character does, and all the problems repeat over and over, the characters never learning from their actions then acting surprised about it. Everything about this show is so incredibly frustrating and I'm disappointed that I've ruined all the twists by watching the show before reading the books. And yet, I have still been binge-watching it, getting caught up in all the emotions, and really rooting for the characters (other than Clary, of course 🤢). I don't know why it hooked me, but it did. So if you are 10 years old, have some seriously low standards, or have watched all the other good fantasy shows, then this is the show for you.
