I love this movie. Although it is not a capital F film, it beautifully displays the depth of character that most female superhero movies overlook. The villains in this movie are actually scary. They are not meant to be fancy, suave, fashionable villains; these men are portrayed as very real abusers and predators. I do not often find myself uncomfortable or scared of movie villains; however, because these characters were so successfully grounded in real life, they turned my stomach in a way all too familiar. Also, the women in this film were relatable and funny. They were sexy in a way that wasn't demeaning or contrary to their character. They showed realistic female bonding, traumas, and growth. Not to mention that they all wore their hair in a practical manner for fighting. Fight scenes were beautifully choreographed with a delectable aesthetic style. The color plate and humor played delectably off of the more serious topics of the film. Overall I would recommend this movie to everyone. I wish I had more media like this when I was growing up.
