If I hadn't read the books before watching the movie, I can admit this would have been a movie I would have liked. It had some cool visual effects (mostly Saphira) and the storyline wasn't bad. But because I have read the books I can't help but compare them and see all the critical things they changed and stare in amazement and horror. Both because of the sheer amount of content that got changed and how the continuity of the plot was shattered. So many things were changed that were critical later on in the plot that, if they had continued with the film series, it would have only had the vaguest similarities to the books.
