While I do enjoy The Chosen and in fact have invested in this, I was a little underwhelmed based on what I was told to expect. Is it a good show? yes. However, it was made out to be the most amazing thing in recent times, but it wasn't that for me. I know these are somewhat small issues, but 2 things really bothered me.
1) Mary, nor Joesph, was not cast as a 14-year-old or teenager
2) The manger was depicted as a well-formed concrete basin rather than a wooden manger, which even the monologue mentioned.
As long as it speaks to the unchurched, then it has done its mission.
My favorite part of the music was the Bonner Family. Well done!
