Assassin's Creed has really lost its way since Syndicate, with the introduction of the new style of game. I'm sure there are people who love it, but it's not Assassin's Creed anymore and I wish they'd change the title.
Odyssey is an OK game, I guess. Origins was better, in my opinion. Both have way too many side quests, to the point that they start to feel like a WoW clone. In Origins you had to deal with a huge number of weapons and shields--Odyssey makes that even worse by giving you five different armor slots, not just shield. It feels like you spend an inordinate amount of time deciding what to keep, sell, or melt down. The map is huge and mostly full of fluff. Naval combat is back, which is good if you liked that in Black Flag.
Anyway, I wouldn't recommend it if you're an AC fan. If you like games where you just fight a lot, you'll probably like it.
