A laugh/cry show. And the laughs are often startling. The cries are not startling, which is why I took off one star; trite. But I love this show, the acting is brilliant.

Matthew McConaughey was amazing. And the story pulled me through and through from the beginning of the Civil War to the 20th century. There is so much more to learn.
