There is so much going on in this show, which makes it interesting. Ginny’s character is the typical teen girl who hates her mom while she’s having all of these new experiences in life. It’s just annoying to see almost every teen girl (in a show) fight with their mother especially when they themselves are being a hypocrite or making everything about them. While yes, Ginny is the main character; the show should be more mindful of the lives of other characters and enlighten Ginny as a whole. I roll my eyes every time she has a tantrum, her act really ruins the show. Not to discredit the actors, I’m talking about the script. Hopefully if there is a season two, Ginny will improve. Also Marcus deserves more screen time

The movie is dreary and anticlimactic. It’s not even about making music or Ma Rainey herself. It goes into making blues music in the north briefly, it has these out of the blue moments where they talk about the black experience in that time. While watching the movie I felt emotional drained and bored, 55 minutes in the movie and we were nowhere good. It only covered one day of their life. They go over the same thing for a good hour and 20 minutes. I’m so underwhelmed I can’t even properly describe this. We shouldn’t have to keep bringing up the racial injustice black people dealt with, there are better things to make a movie about.The trailer is a lie, the movie is boring until the VERY end. On another note Chadwick was amazing, I love him so much and may he Rest In Peace.
