The film wasn't bad. But it wasn't great either. The ending was... Iffy. It felt incomplete. Like the story was left unresolved. Of course, that sets it up for a sequel but that shouldn't mean that part 1 has no full arc. Take Infinity War for example. That was an excellent film and (though it has a second part coming out soon) it still felt as tho it had a fully completed story. Alita, on the other hand, felt as though the film would continue for a little bit longer. My friend and I went to watch this film and when we saw the ending (before we realised it was the ending) we both settled down, expecting it to continue. But it didn't.
The rest of the story was (Once again) not bad but not good either. The story wasn't completely engaging and I didn't feel too attached to any of the characters (thus lowering my emotional response to certain aspects of the film). I wouldn't watch it again but at the same time, I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from watching it themselves.
