Ignore the cranky space-fan and that’s-not-plausible reviews. TV shows (and movies) “ask” us to suspend disbelief in pretty much every scene on any show. Moving on. The writing from a dramatic perspective is quite lovely and often poignant. Adding in the personal elements helps offset the drag of what would be a boring story (at least from an entertainment perspective). Humanity doesn’t stop in space. It becomes amplified. The cast is strong, and they hold their own alongside an academy award winner. You grow to care about every character. Is it perfect? No. But, I’m so glad I watched it. I’d say, for Netflix, it’s some of the highest caliber of writing and acting I’ve seen. Watch it, and form your own opinions.

It’s like the creator had an exhaustive list of ideas, and fearing he’d never get another chance, decided to jam all of them into one, colossally boring movie. The ludicrously extended slo-mo beginning should have given me a clue. The only credit I’d give to this movie is KD’s acting—except for the golf-course sex scene. Looked like she was at the rodeo trying to make it to 8 seconds. Painful to watch the overacted, awkward scene. And it clearly wasn’t intentionally uncomfortable. It was just bad. So glad I didn’t pay for this hot mess. If you’re morbidly curious, feel free to watch.
