I always love the little mermaid since I was a child. Halle Bailey played as Ariel and I knew about it since more than a year ago, I was from full of question marks around my head till accepting this. When I saw this movie, my question marks are coming out again that why King Triton is white? And why Prince Eric's mom is black? Did I miss the explanations in the movie maybe..like is the queen a real biological mother of Prince Eric? I can tell why this movie is not popular in China, and usually all Disney movies should be popular in China. It's not about the race or racism, it's about making sense or not. Halle Bailey is wonderful in the movie, but this time Disney is not making sense why a white father can have a completely black and asian daughters...why a black mother can born a completely white prince 😵‍💫

I love almost everything about the movie except the role "Amy". There must be a mistake when choosing the role Amy. The actress looks like the oldest of 4 but playing the youngest of the 4 sisters. Especially her voice...doesn't sound like age 13 and doesn't sound young. I try not to criticize the actress herself but she definitely was a mistake playing Amy.
