Has a solid introduction and a decent culmination to a climax that ultimately led to a completely horrible pro-war ending that completely contradicted the entire premise of what the entire movie was building on. A Pro-War Pro-US message where the US has to come in and save the day from the US because they're too busy doing US stuff in overseas foreign countries.
The protagonist is set to slowly progress with valid character development that you feel like he should be learning, as he's a drone pilot that never had to set foot on ground, and it shows as he lacks the confidence and combat etiquette to do anything other than hide, almost shoot civilians, and cry to himself about his deployment.
When you'd think that he'd understand the message of the punishment he was instilled for not following orders, in the end he falls back in line as a spineless cog in the machine, and saves himself and the US, from the US, to ensure that the war continues in the same countries he'd dropped bombs on that has left countless children orphans from the same government that dropped a bomb on him and several civilians who he himself got to see churned and burned first hand.
Overall, the last half hour or so became convoluted, completely detached from the message the movie was trying to convey, and instead crashed into a steaming pile of clichés and pro-war Pro-America sentiment that the movie was originally trailing up against from the beginning.
From a strong critique and message for and against the atrocities of war, for all parties involved, and especially so for the soldiers on the ground, to the completely opposite message by the end where war is to continue, and the protagonist is to be treated as a hero for ensuring said war among humans continue, with his only finishing line being that humans can learn to become better, while he's deployed in a warzone, where his military dropped bombs on civilians, including himself, calling them collateral, and his government is creating super powered genius AI-Combat units.
Lmfao what??? This literally makes no sense as I type it.
Go watch a better movie.
