It's not enough to say "this is not based on reality!" when the figures, places, ideas are explicitly inspired by real ones. The movie definitely conveys misinformation at least to some level. "Game of Thrones" was a GREAT example of what this should have looked like: All the religions, places, figures, etc. are made up and no misinformation is conveyed. "Prince of Persia" also has achieved it to some extent.
