Minor Spoiler for one Episode. I had never heard of the Locke and Key Comic Series prior to first seeing the trailer for the new series on Netflix. I was intrigued as it appeared to be a Gothic Type Horror and Im always on the lookout for such shows as few exist. I expected a tossup somewhere between Netflix's Sabrina Series and Hill House. Unfortunately, it wasnt even that. Its soooo slow. Going back and forth between the older two siblings school lives with a bit of the story of the house thrown in. The House, the Keys, the family and the history of it all should have been at the forefront for the first season. Where did the keys come from? What is the history of the house? Why arent the two older kids trying to help the youngest find the keys and the origins of the "well lady"? In the show the Well Lady comes after the youngest sibling. At one point she has him out in the front yard demanding keys from him with a wall of fire surrounding them. The older brother makes a feeble attempt at rescue then the next day nothing. These three kids should be working together to figure all this out while Mom continues trying to figure out what happened in the past with their father. Instead the kids are all doing uninteresting random things with their friends. The mom is oblivious to anything because shes over the age of 18. Shes focused on trying to figure out her husband's past but over six episodes were still none the wiser because noone is talking. The older brother is trying to fuel a pointless romance and has little involvement. Its just all unmeaningful noise...filler. I just bought the first book from the comic series. Netflix Off. Ive got some cool and promising reading to do.
