Outstanding. Brilliant. The plot, the language, the style of writing, everything makes it a masterpiece. Loved it from beginning to end. There's not a boring minute. Consummate thriller.

One of the best I've ever read and mind you I have loved libraries and books all my life. It is the first hindi novel or one of the very preliminary ones and undoubtedly the best. Such engaging storyline. Never a dull moment. Not one meaningless sentence. Not once! Such mastery over his art. I'm in awe of Babu Devakinandan Khatri. Given the time he was born in, the society, the language and the resources available to him... you can't help but be in awe of him. Brilliant. I feel that the TV serial should have done justice to the novel by sticking to this storyline only and also keeping the true names of the characters. There's no need of taking perfect things. And this is nothing less than perfect.

It may sound very harsh but I wouldn't have liked this book even in high school. Such lack of substance and pathetic writing style. Wouldn't recommend at all.

Sometimes a tedious read but the ending made up for it. I was expecting as well as hoping it ends that way.
