It’s about #metoo ... the whole Harvey Weinstein thing but played out in a fictitious US TV Network and centred on their New York based morning news program. You know, the trashy kind of news shows no-one watches because they’re on at 6am - 10am when real people have better things to do. And it’s excellent. Best TV series I’ve seen in years! It twists and turns as it explores that issue relentlessly, uncomfortably, surprisingly, uncompromisingly. Aniston and Witherspoon are excellent. I’d never really taken either of them seriously before - my bad - because they’re both strong actors here. But the proof of this show’s excellence comes with my sad feeling on Monday knowing it’s 4 days before the next episode comes out and my delight on Thursday when I remember it’s on tomorrow! Guys - you might find the topic a bit awkward at times but they do a great job of exploring it from everyone’s side and the show really leaves it up to you to make up your mind. It’s not preachy, and it’s definitely not man-hating. Making a show about #metoo that isn’t man-hating is an amazing achievement right there! It’s excellent. Worth getting a subscription to Apple TV+ for this show alone in my opinion.
