Also Doug Walker has expanded from just reviewing classic movies, his comedic effects and commentary is always on point. Even if he makes a mistake, he goes back on it and doesn't act all "holier than thou."
Although some of his critiques is dramatized for comedic effect, they are entertaining and overall well thought out. He's actually helped me learn how to look at works, such as in my English classes, more objectively. I went from blindly accepting anything the author wanted to learning to analyze and question artistic choices as effective or...not as effective in conveying the film's message. If the comedy side of a review isn't really to your taste, Doug Walker still makes other spectacular reviews that are not in his "Nostalgia Critic" character.
His earlier videos are really mainly just him in front of a camera but the special effects and side plots with the Nostalgia crew in later episodes I think are still amazing.
He gives good history of the movies to provide contexts and, overall, Nostalgia Critic is one of my favorite Youtube stars.
To Doug Walker, thank you for your videos.
