Prepare to be immersed and luxuriate in a deliciously sensual, luscious, uplifting wistful, etherial, atmospheric, intoxicating, complex, compelling and wholly addictive film. First rate cinematography, acting and sound track with some surprising editing. One to watch again and again . . . .

Philip K Dick ('Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?') And the involement of Ridldy Scott. A potential masterpiece. The conception is amazing: what if Germany had won WW2 coupled with the notion of parallel universes. Brilliant! Acting superb and set design breathtaking. Script very, very disappointing: Too much 'noise', 'babble' and 'red herrings' leading to increasing confusion and disorientation over 30 episodes . . . . . ! Transitions between parallel universes were in expertly handled. It lacked the 'sharpness and precision' of the 'Black Mirror 'episodes for eg.Too much time wasted spent telling a potentially excellent story. It reminded me of 'Lost' which is exactly where I found myself and switched off!

An exceptionally well crafted film in every single respect. The young actors are amazing whilst the haunting soundtrack reinforces the omnipresent sense of foreboding. The 'mise en scene' is stunning. The subject matter is masterfully handled, despite being heart wrenchingly sad. A must watch if you don't want every single why and wherefore. Simply suspend any disbelief and feel the feelings! As a footnote: please don't take too much notice of Matt Zoller Sertz' (finalist for Pulitzer Prize in criicism) somewhat pejorative review of the film. Remi plays the oboe, of course and not the clarinet, as he erroneously states.
