Having loved the original movie from the moment I saw it in the cinema, and enjoying the second movie as a solid horror, I was very excited about 28 Years Later.
As always, Danny Boyle and Alex Garland have delivered something unexpected, yet fantastic.
It was frightening, disturbing, funny and deeply moving. I couldn't tear my eyes from the screen.
The location shooting was eerie and beautiful, the performances were excellent and it was never predictable.
I appreciate the ending is divisive, and whilst I 'sort of' understood it, I still had to turn to Google for a more detailed explanation (which now makes sense).
I found myself thinking about the movie as I was falling to sleep last night, and thought about it as I woke this morning. That only happens when a movie really has an impact on me.
I can't recommend it enough, I realise it won't be everyone's cuppa, but it would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing.
