Billy Carruthers

I loved this movie and the animation!! Its definitely a movie for the long-time fans of ghibli films, the classic stylistic choices carried into a new medium were a lovely touch and really made it feel homey, but the 3d animation made it new and exciting, almost refreshing to see such an influential figure in animation delve into new waters and doing it wonderfully. I see a lot of reviews saying they didnt like the "abrupt" ending, but I have to disagree, this is clearly the beginning to a longer story. The build up taround the characters and their backstory and motives had many background variables left to the imagination FOR NOW, and I have faith they will be elaborated on in later installments to the story. In the meantime with the bits of story that we have, the story and animation is beautiful, and certainly a fascinating turn for the ghibli legacy.
