Easily one of the best games I’ve ever played with well deserved hype. The graphics, the soundtrack (be prepared with some tissues), combat, side quests, gameplay, story telling, almost every detail of this game was executed perfectly and I can definitely justify the price for such a well developed masterpiece. The selection of weapons is large but simple at the same time, most of the games functions are straight to the point and make it easy to pick up which makes it very inviting for even novice gamers like myself to play, but complicated enough to make sure all players new or pros can have an amazing experience fit for them. Oh and also, the mc gains so much style throughout the game his wardrobe is actually bigger than mine it’s crazy! :p The amount of time put into developing this game can be seen in all of the breathtaking Japan inspired sceneries, as well as the extensive amount of information given about the mongols and their invasion to Japan. The story told in this game is both beautiful as well as heartbreaking as you follow the journey of a broken samurai. Can safely say after over 80 hours of gameplay invested I didn’t want this game to end and for about a week afterwards I was truly saddened I can’t play it anymore! Spoiler free- The ONLY reason I don’t give GOT 5/5 stars is the final fight was (to me) a disappointing/anticlimactic ending to such a beautiful game. I assumed such an incredible journey such as Jin’s would’ve have a more fitting end but perhaps that’s just a matter of opinion. Regardless, I recommend this game to anyone who wants to delve into a world of Japanese culture.

Amazing rpg and includes great gameplay that honours the original persona games that came out over 20 years ago. Once you start playing this you truly feel like a transfer student living in Japan. The storytelling while lengthy and some may say corny is amazing and entertaining. You MUST be ready to invest time into this game as it’s nothing short. In about 7 weeks I played 100 hours and didn’t want the game to end. I’m a novice gamer so I will say some of the boss fights were insanely challenging (one in particular made me go crazy most of you will know which one I’m talking about) but it’s the beauty of the game! Each story in the game has a climax that doesn’t disappoint, not to mention the possibly of different endings definitely make you cautious of your decisions in the game. The ONLY disappointment of this game is the fact that if you go in blind like me, you don’t know that you MUST unlock a certain feature to fully experience the game. This is because p5r is basically an improved version of Persona 5 with added content. I can say the added content adds a lot to the game compared to the original persona 5 but sadly I never got to access it. To this day it upsets me to know I’ve invested 100 hours of gameplay to know (since I saved all my data to one save slot) I will never experience the full content and have the full experience unless I invest another 100 hours again and play from the beginning. This is the ONLY reason for 4/5 stars. Aside from that, this game is truly amazing and one of my favourites. (Some may say the graphics are poor quality or old school but since the original game did come out in the late 1990’s I do believe it is the way it is to embody the old school vibes the persona series gives to its players) Don’t make this mistake and you’ll be obsessed with this game like I was!

For a game that’s meant to be primarily about zombies I must say it unexpectedly pulls at your hearts strings start to finish and was more emotional than ever expected. Warning in advance- if you’re not in the right mental state to cry I would hold off playing this game. The graphics, choice of weapons, scenery, gameplay etc are all phenomenal but I do agree there was one major flaw naughty dog decided to execute which unfortunately now can’t be changed. SPOILER!! I think forcing the players to play the character of the antagonist was a poor move and most likely done for shock value. I can try to understand how maybe naughty dog were trying to make the players see 2 perspectives and sympathise/ tap into our emotions however this should’ve at least in my opinion be something that was optional for players to decide. Maybe if they had taken that route people would’ve enjoyed it more. CAN READ AFTER THIS!!!! Every game will have their flaw and room to improve but it’s important to still appreciate all of the efforts put into this game as clearly it was not easy to develop, I can say 100% if there were a LOU part 3 I would pick it up in a heartbeat. Overall I believe while the delivery may have been wrong, the overall message that was meant to be taken from this game was beautiful- that humanity is cruel and you have to learn to accept and move on from resentment or the idea of revenge. Recommend this game for those who want amazing zombie gameplay but must be ready for the tears and emotional trauma :’)

Ok I’ve never played any of the final fantasy games growing up mostly because I’m a girl and wasn’t exposed to the gaming world. I’ve just finished ghost of Tsushima (easily one of the best games I’ve played) and was quite saddened with being home during lockdown in Melbourne & having minimal distractions so I dived into the world of final fantasy and gave FF7R a go as it’s the most recent release. I’ve played for like 10 hours so far and I’m actually obsessed!! this is a really good game in terms of graphics, gameplay and storytelling. One thing to keep in mind is anyone who is an intermediate or a novice player will have to bare through learning and getting used to ALL the weapon features as there’s a lot. And I mean A LOT. Another factor to keep in mind that this game is turn based so you play multiple characters and have to work together to defeat enemies which I can see for some people is annoying it’s just down to preference I guess. I would say I’m a fairly experienced gamer and I’m only about 1/4 into FF7R it’s easily going in my top 5 most enjoyed games I’ve played ever! I got it for only $25 and the guy I bought it from actually also was kind enough to deliver it because he lives close, at first I was thinking “is $25 expensive for a second hand game?” I’m not very VERY stingy when it comes to good quality games however- usually to me if it’s secondhand I pay under $20 but it depends on the game and popularity etc. I looked it up and turns out everywhere online it sells for upwards of $50-$90 (over a year after release) the cheapest I found preowned is from eb games for around $35 so I’m actually so happy I got a bargain and a new game to keep me busy during lockdown! I was lucky to get this masterpiece for a steal but I can definitely justify the retail price for this game and 10/10 recommend to those who enjoy rpg’s+fantasy games! It might seem a little early to write a review but I’m just so impressed, I might give this review an update in a few weeks or so when I complete the game but I’m quite confident my opinion won’t change. If you’re looking for an adventure filled fantasy game this is the one! Only reason for 4/5 stars (correct me if this isn’t already an option I’m not sure) I believe there should be an option to just play as Cloud, as a fair amount of gamers don’t enjoy turn based games, if they put this as an option I’m sure FF would be even bigger than what it is now. Regardless, it’s still a masterpiece that I absolutely love and look forward to finishing :’)
