I started to think I had not read the book after I watched the film. This was a disjointed and uneven story line that made a beautiful novel into a “Crouching Tiger” sort of nonsensical period piece. All of the actors were magnificent but the screenplay and directing made a mash up of an incredible story.

I was so excited to watch and was equally enthralled with the chance to see DeNiro, Pacino and Pesci on screen together again. I was left with wondering why this movie was made? The screenplay is awkward and incomplete, the acting was worthy by Pacino and DeNiro, and exquisite by Pesci. Again, no new...anything? Still scratching my head about “why”.
