Brilliant game. Finally, a new Metroid that places the series near the top of the list with other Metroidvanias. It always seemed frustrating that the genre was going through such a resurgence and we couldn't get something from the original that competed with modern takes like Hollow Knight, Ori, and Blasphemous. This one does. It still goes on my number two, beside Hollow Knight, but HK is one of my all time favorites. This is a must play game for fans of the series and the genre. Not since Metroid Prime have I been this blown away by a new game in the series.
