At first you kind if believe that he found God and seeks redemption. Then it starts to seem like he is just saying all this stuff to get people to believe him. When she changed his story to make the victim look "bad" it was pretty disturbing. I think he was in a relationship with the victim and didn't want him to tell people, he was ashamed of his own sexuality and took it out on the real harmless man.
