Surprisingly awful in its offering potential solutions to a corrupt system wherein government and corporations are intertwined and essentially screwing the public. No, we don’t want ultra processed lab food that isn’t real food. This piece simply discussed a problem we all already know exists. None of the paid for politicians in the piece offered solutions except that they would “bring awareness” while they get totally trounced by lobbyists and real deal makers in washington. Legislation with actual teeth needs to be passed and the DOJ should be bringing these corporations to task with anti trust suits. Wouldn’t recommend as you can simply look around and already know what’s going on with our food system.

Just when you were thinking the message is aimed against the elite, corruption and fallen nature of man, the disdain is unashamedly aimed towards one political party. Some things (yes, even in science) are more complicated than simply looking into the sky and recognizing a comet hurling towards planet earth. Man is not God, nor are scientists. There are some things we simply don't fully understand. McKay's paintbrush is clearly doused in either black or white with this piece. I did appreciate his take on what matters in life (family/friends/God) albeit only a minor exhibition in the end. Lastly, just like Jennifer Lawrence's character was perplexed as to why the general charged them for snacks, I'm left in the same position as to the characterization of this as a "comedy".

Ironic in that the mother was just as oppressive to her daughter and her marriage as the culture she escaped. The only redeeming quality of the show was the older daughter. I actually felt bad for her that she had no support whatsoever. “I want you to be happy but only in that way I think you should be happy.”
