Set at the heartland of the nation , Batti gul Meter chalu , has enough substance to make your batti go gul. In this modern and liberal world , where directors have enough creative and cinematic freedom , the concept of sticking to the supposed mannerism of communication is definitely okay, but the movie almost makes a mockery of it and that is certainly not ‘chalu’ ! Movies riding high on social issues has been mundane and a sureshot textbook formula for success, but not this one. The movie lacks substance, good performances and a storyline to keep the viewers hooked and interested. Except one all the other songs are below average and does not at all match up to the standards. Taking cue from one of the unbearable numbers, the messiah of social issue based films Mr. Akshay Kumar would be mysteriously singing out if you have “GOLD” why go for tamba! You can definitely give it a skip and save up for your electricity bills.
