Spencer Vallis

Wow. What a ride. I won’t say I loved the entire movie, and sure there were a couple of moments I didn’t love, but most of what is on offer here is bloody brilliant. James Wan has done an amazing job of capturing the scope and spectacle of Atlantis, and as a fan of the comics it was amazing to see the kingdoms under the sea, and they all felt distinct in their design. Jason Momoa shines, and he has some real chemistry with Mera, which really makes me excited to see their relationship grow with future films. I would like to see Black Manta become more of a threat, at times if we he didn’t bring enough stakes which would be my main criticism of the film, although that is a small black mark on an overal excellent piece of cinema. With films like this and Shazam on the way, things are finally looking up for the DC universe
