90210 with vampires. If you're quite intelligent you will hate this. There are so many plot holes, so many times when you start thinking of yourself why are they doing that. The main character can cure vampires so why then haven't they taken her blood and spread it around, no she just runs around killing everyone, pointlessly even people she could cure. With People like this in the apocalypse I'm rooting for the vampires.

This is quite entertaining fair. If you have a couple of hours to kill why don't you just go for it and watch the movie? If of course you do , please don't expect anything original, don't get me wrong it has its tense moments and at times is very definitely claustrophobic, even I found myself thinking "what was that " as I caught a glimpse out of corner of my eye. This movie is basically ALIEN underwater, down to the female hero running around in her Ripley knickers in and out of space suits paying 'homage' to Ripley's original. Believe it or not, there is even one scene where the hero gets swallowed by a creature and she bursts out of ITS CHEST. With that in mind you can not obviously take this film seriously which is probably why it was a big fat bomb in the cinema. You have of course the usual stereotypical characters, it seems quite obvious that you know the ones who were going to die and who provides the cocky light entertainment, but they are characters that don't last long. I said at the beginning of this post that you could give this film a try, it's not bad , not great but if there's nothing else to watch on a Saturday night give it a go.

I read the book many years ago, and if like me you enjoyed the book then I'm afraid you won't enjoy this. The Stand in the written form is all about character development it's a slow burn to explain and introduce the seven or eight main characters. This TV skips over any character development it skipped over much of the story and the nuances that are in the book. I took exception to The casting when you read the book descriptions of each of the characters leaves nothing to be ambiguous about, now I'm fully aware that for tv you have to change certain characters, but to do it just for the sake of it, that can't be right. In this series male is female black is white, and it's done just because they can. This incarnation of The Stand runs to 9 episodes, they could have easily stretched it out to 2 series and made it 10 times better. This to be honest is lazy, it's not terrible and as a story it's ok, but if they had just taken their time they could have made something really good. What they missed was explaining things like why Nadine struggled so much which would go a long way to explaining her end and why Harold felt picked on and left out, all of these things and for all of the characters were explained within the book and these things are critically important to the development of characters it gives them a reason for their actions a reason for there being something which this series doesn't even bother with. they have taken other interesting characters like the judge for example and not even included them in the storyline other than to be cannon fodder

This film is too violent for 10-year olds but too stupid for everyone else! I'm not going to give you any spoilers but I will tell you one scene that sums up the whole movie, imagine a lone warrior enters a army camp hiding behind four Shaolin monks ( who the producer couldn't get to have a haircut because there was no money left in the budget because they gave it to Nicolas Cage to appear in the one scene that he did) and for no inexplicable reason whatsoever decides to have a kung fu fight with 20 heavily armed special forces soldiers (who decide not to shoot, just doesn't makes sense!) There is an elongated rooftop scene where I am positive for the one stunt man that they can hire, after getting beat up literally goes round the back of the camera to fight the guy again. this movie is the definite throwback to straight to video 1980s action flicks and if you enjoyed those... Well you won't enjoy this! I think the writer producer and director who was pretty much the same group of three people, I don't know them personally but I'm guessing there all 13 still in school and think JCVD is there hero.

WARNING..NO SPOILERS.......I'm being generous of my star rating because my little boy loved the movie. This movie is a copy parody or a rip-off if you like of the Halloween horror franchise. But with no Gore just a few jump scares and lots of fun for the family. Some great cameos, and basically if you liked Grown Ups ( and who didn't ) you'll certainly like this as it pretty much has the same cast.

Reviews for this rate at -" read the book and I hate it " to " never heard of it before but love it " . I've never read the book so come at this with no preconceptions. Even I got the feeling a chunk of narrative was missing, the characters without exception are unlovable even unlikable and yes I'm talking about the heroes. The main character (artimus) an actor I can't even be bothered to Google was unimaginative and wooden. Don't get me started on Dame Judi stench (yes she did). I'm genuinely trying to think of something nice to say , but can't. if you're planning on taking the kids to the cinema to see this anyway bring a book. In reviews they often say " if you liked so and so you will like this " the best I can think of is if you liked Gulliver you will like this , and believe me Gulliver was terrible. Kenneth branagh what the hell are you doing?
