Just responding to the person who wanted to know how Tolkien supported his family after the war and what his brother did - He was a college professor (at Oxford, I believe) and if i remember correctly his brother went into farming and then bought an orchard and got married and had three children. He lived until 1976 - a little longer than his brother. Not sure why the woman did not want the poems published. Great movie though even though the Battle of the Somme part of it was depressing. I found the irony of someone caring for their sick officer (the batman? - it that the term ? ) , that is, the man making sure Tolkien had a blanket and something like a pillow underneath his head in that horrible place an interesting touch. Amid horror and inhumanity, one almost finds such an action incredible - when in normal times it is natural to care about someone who is sick. Loved the friendship and fellowship theme and the part about his future wife Edith. Great movie.
