“And just like that…..” did not disappoint.
I was never really a fan of SATC.
However I watched both films and eventually got round to watching the series on streaming.
I think in SATC the gay characters were only there for comedic relief. And accessories to the main characters. However I now feel the writing addresses how the dynamics of the friendships has evolved.
I felt the issues of diversity was dealt with in each episode realistically.
The main characters have aged and the writing conveys that point. There was many moments that I could relate to topics touched on.
The reason given for Samantha’s absence sat well with me. Friendships can come to an end sadly and we mourn their lost. Which each main character once again convey extremely believably.
The pace of “AJLT” was orderly and digestible. As a 57 year I can honestly say I appreciate the life journey of each of the main characters. Relating to some more than others. I’d have no issue with recommending this great piece of comedy drama.
