Pointless gruesomeness throughout the film that is not explained, coupled with no real mystery (since you can tell everyone is going to die at the hands of the weirdos in the village) make for a terrible movie. Also, if you are waiting to see how the trip the protagonist makes is in any way related to her family tragedy at the start of the film or how the trip helps her to understand her relationship with her terrible boyfriend, then (SORT OF A SPOILER) you really won’t see anything that ties to all this and the madness that you see going on throughout the movie.
