Of course Kidman and Bardem are both incredible actors but I was ultimately turned off in large part by the movie and it's festering, heavy-handed darkness. I kept waiting for it to lighten up and take a breather when it could have portrayed the television shows comedic antics of the Ricardo's. It definitely was a missed opportunity to show the startling contrasts between the lighthearted and comedic TV home life that the Ricardos shared with over 60 million viewers each episode while peeling back the veneer and revealing the dark seedy underbelly of their lives. Nevertheless it is a compelling snapshot of two people who became some of the most iconic Americans ever to live.
