Robert Homan

This is an annoying movie. Elizabeth Taylor is an obnoxious Bohemian and Richard Burton is a sappy Episcopalian priest who falls for her despite her complete lack of charm and her seeming hatred for everything he represents. Everything is overwrought and Elizabeth Taylor is ACTING (i.e. over-emoting and over-enunciating every word). She comes across as a parody of someone trying to earn an acting Oscar. Burton fares better and manages to give a solid performance, but this is a lousy script. This movie is not worth anyone's time.
