Rib’s Ratings: 7.5/10
Pros: Gripping storytelling, brilliant performances. Characters that deserve mentions are: Parulkar, Gaitonde, Sartaj, Katekar, Subadhra and Bunty.
From Faizal to Gaitonde, Nawaz shines in his character that cannot just be defined by the word ‘gangster.’
Gaitonde’s story is fascinating. Production design, sound and camera work is good.
Cons: Same formula, darkness, overuse of slangs even when not neccassary for the sake of creative freedom. Predictability at many junctures. The fact that others die easily but no one seems remotely interested in killing Sartaj.
Also a bit surprised with the timelines. Assuming Zoya was 18 when she visited Gaitonde in jail in 1993, she must be in her 40s in present day. As a top current actress she didn’t look like someone in that age group. Max early 30s you can predict.
There are a few holes like that.
Overall, it’s watchable and enjoyable. Not the one for faint heart. But I would like to see something coming out that’s more real, bright and positive
